What is MHC?
Mental Health China (MHC)
is a health care and social assistance non-for-profit organization,
aiming at raising public awareness in China
against Major Depression and other mental disorders related to
depression, and providing social supports to those affected by these mental
disorders.
The predecessor of MHC is
a famous public awareness program against depression, called “Sunlight
Project”, initiated in Beijing University , China ,
in 2000. The “Sunlight Project”, through its public awareness campaigns, TV
program series, mass media releases, lecture series in universities and its
website (www.sunofus.com), has helped
millions of people in China
. The purpose of MHC is to continue this project in a more
efficient and sustainable way.

MHC Support Groups
MHC is now trying to build up a network of local patient-run support
groups across China
to help people in their communities. Support groups are going to
play an important role in recovery, and help to spread knowledge about
depression and depression-related disorders.

Sunofus.com was initially built as the website of the “Sunlight Project”, but it
has became a popular website about depression and depression-related
disorders in China, because of the excellent knowledge, information, mutual
supports and personal stories it provides. MHC will continue to maintain this
website as excellent sources of knowledge and mutual supports.
